National Pollution Prevention Day 2022

National Pollution Prevention Day is observed on 2nd December in India. This day is observed in the memory of people who lost their lives in the Bhopal gas calamity. Bhopal gas tragedy occurred in the year 1984 on the night of 2–3 December. Many people died due to the poisonous gas Methyl Isocyanate also known as MIC. As per the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) calendar activity, IGNOU celebrated the National Pollution Control Day by organizing various types of activities during the week from December 02-09, 2022.

Regional Centre Dehradun organized different awareness activities during the week from December 02-09, 2022. As a part of awareness activity, Regional Centre staff carried a small rally the nearby market place for generating  awareness about control of pollution in their day to day activities including their professional activities.
